One day in the magical land of Ilonata, a herd of unicorns went out to search for a lost foal. It had wandered into the deepest parts of the forest the night before to play a game of hide and seek with the other little unicorn foals but forgot to return home once it got dark. Usually, unicorns were quite skilled at blending into their backgrounds, so they could disappear behind trees and rocks with surprising ease. Their glittering coats and shining manes didn't give them away when they crept into the shadows. But the seeking unicorn didn't notice the hiding foal's shining mane, and no one came to look for it when it disappeared, which was probably why it got lost. The unicorns went into the forest and searched. They searched by the river, among the ferns, and behind the rocks and trees. But no matter where they looked, there was no sign of the missing foal. But suddenly, they discovered a trail of little muddy hoofprints that looked like they must have been left behind by the foal.

It was a typical summer Sunday at Fish Haven Aquarium. Families, couples, and children crowded the halls marveling at the aquatic creatures of all shapes and sizes on display. I'm Coming Out

Hello, everyone. I thought I'd like to share something about me with you all, because I've been waiting to tell you for quite a while now. I think it's time I made it official. I'm part of the LGBTQ+ community. Specifically, I'm aromantic asexual. This means I'm not attracted to anyone either sexually or romantically. It's not all that bad, though, because I actually don't need a romantic partner to be happy. I enjoy my life as it is right now. In fact, I've been aro-ace for my whole life. I've never taken a romantic interest to anyone, because I always thought being in love with someone, either sexually or romantically, is not that important. While some people believe that they need a romantic relationship to feel complete or fulfilled, I am certainly not one of them. I've never experienced "crushes" or being "in love" with someone else, whether it was a regular person or some kind of celebrity. Why I'm Not Active Very Much

Hello, everyone. If you have been following me and my friend Rachel here on DA, you might have noticed that I haven't been posting as much as I used to. I sincerely apologize for the lack of new content, and I want you to know that I'm still alive and well. It's just that I haven't been able to do much in terms of writing, let alone the ambitious stories I had in mind for sharing here and elsewhere. Most of them aren't finished yet, as it takes quite a while for me to come up with good ideas for my stories. Most of my time has been spent focusing on my real-life concerns such as my freelance job. Not to mention that my home computer recently stopped working. I don't know what the issue is with it, but for some reason, it will not turn back on, no matter how many times I push the power button. I've been trying to find a way to fix it, but I'm concerned that I might mess something up and erase all my data, which I certainly don't want. For now, I am currently using my portable laptop and

New Story Preview: The Selkie and the Mermaid

Since a lot of people here on DA have been participating in the annual Mermay Challenge, we decided to give it a go by writing a mermaid-themed story. It's called "The Selkie and the Mermaid". It is about a selkie and a mermaid who meet up on dry land, share their fascination with human life, and become close. They do their best to demonstrate their knowledge of humans with each other and try to hide their non-human origins from land-dwellers, hoping that nobody suspects anything. Here's an excerpt from our story: Off the coast of a European country was a series of islands called the Rock Isles. The biggest island in the Rocky Isles was called Westmouth Cay. On Westmouth Cay, there was a village on the town beach populated by boatmen and fishermen. It was quite a peaceful, happy village, and the residents spent their time catching fish, harvesting seafood, riding their boats down the sparkly blue water, and walking along the beach on pleasant, sunny days.
